Job summary

Major Tool & Machine in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Quality Final Inspector to support final certification, inspections, and documentation prior to shipment. You will assemble data packages, ensure defect-free products, and maintain audit-ready records in a fast-paced shop environment.

The role requires interpretation of complex drawings, use of precision inspection tools, and adherence to QA and customer specifications. Onsite work with comprehensive benefits is provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings/specifications.
• Proficiency with inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, comparators, etc.).
• Competency with Inspection Data Checklists (IDCs) and QA planning systems.

Responsibilities

• Follow Priority Dispatch List (PDL) for Final Inspection resource IDs.
• Verify completion of all quality requirements before acceptance (POs, drawings, design outputs, IDs, routing, QA tabs).
• Perform final dimensional, visual, and functional inspections per customer specs; use video scope for hard-to-reach features.
• Record inspection evidence accurately (IDCs, forms); capture photos/videos of product condition and markings.
• Enter Certificate of Conformance and Cover Sheet data into the QAP program post-acceptance; ensure documentation completeness.
• Assemble and review the final data package (Cover Sheet, ToC, CoC, certs, IDs, docs) for completeness and traceability.
• Execute the Green Tag process: complete Inspector section, tag the part, close the inspection, notify QC and management.
• Support ASME/nuclear requirements as applicable, including document coordination.
