Job summary

sefl is hiring a Final Mile Driver in the United States. You will pick up, transport, and deliver freight locally in a non CDL-A vehicle. Expect responsibilities including loading, unloading, paperwork, and safety checks.

The role requires at least 21 years old, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to pass background and drug tests. First shift with hourly pay. Pay ranges from $31.35 to $34.50 per hour and may vary by location and experience.

Qualifications

• Complete all paperwork related to vehicle operations and freight movements.

Job description

As a Final Mile Driver, you will pick up, transport, and deliver freight locally, not to include hazardous materials, in a non CDL-A vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safe and timely transportation of freight from origin to destination.
• Load and unload shipments, either individually or with assistance , with or without mechanical freight handling equipment.
• Perform frequent lifting, pulling and carrying of freight.
• Inspects vehicle for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips and submit a written Vehicle Condition Report on the condition of the vehicle at the end of each trip.
• Check shipping papers to determine the nature of load to ensure hazardous materials are not present.
• Ensure all shipping documentation ( e.g. manifest, security seal sheet, bills of lading, shipping orders, freight bills, etc.) required to move with shipments is available for inspection and that appropriate paperwork accompany shipment when delivered.
• Properly handle and complete all necessary paperwork related to vehicle operations and freight movements.

Qualifications & Requirements

• be at least 21 years old
• have a High School Diploma or GED
• have the ability to satisfactorily pass background check and alcohol and drug test
• have a valid Driver's License with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
• have at least 6 months of driving experience, to include a personal motor vehicle
• and be willing to enter Southeast's Driver Trainee Program after successfully completing one year in the Final Mile Driver role.
• We would prefer you to have previous experience including Pallet Jack, Load & unload, Box Truck, Delivery Driver, or CDL B.

Pay

Pay: $31.35-$34.50 Per Hour (pay may vary based on location and experience)
