Job Description & Responsibilities
- Uses predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to inspect visually in-process and completed products such as electronic units and subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies or mechanical units, subassemblies, and internal defects.
- Uses various measuring devices. Accepts, rejects, malfunctioning units or systems.
- Works from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawing or inspection instructions and checklists.
- May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
- This opportunity involves working closely with the Engineering and Manufacturing team to build prototypes, support New Product Integration (NPI) and productions builds.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to obtain an Active DOD Secret Clearance, requires U.S. Citizenship
- Associates Technology Degree with 5 years of Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing Quality Assurance Engineering experience and/or 5 years of Aerospace/NASA Industry Quality inspection experience.
- Certification in the relevant workmanship standards, such as: IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620 w/space addendum, J-STD-001 w/space addendum, NASA-STD-8739.1, etc.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and acceptance criteria for Aerospace components such as cable harness, mechanical assembly, printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies and soldering.
- Experience with hands-on inspection of electronic components, printed circuit boards, electronic assemblies, fabricated mechanical parts and Electro-Mechanical Assemblies.
- Ability to understand and follow Engineering and Quality documentation, drawing/blueprints, process flow charts, manufacturing travelers, and work instructions.
- Experience using Electro/Mechanical hand-held inspection equipment, Microscopes/magnifiers
- Understand and contribute to performance metric reporting.
- Assist in helping to determine Root Cause and Corrective Action activities.
- Must be hands on with prototype and new product/process introduction builds.
- Must be able to perform highly detailed, in-process and Final Inspection activities.
- 2 - 4 years of experience in Quality
- 2 - 4 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control
- 4 - 6 years of experience in Quality Systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous work experience in a Quality Inspection role in support of Aerospace/NASA Programs.
- Experience identifying process and product yield trends.
- Ability to tailor level of effort based on customer requirements and expectations.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Understands AS9100 Quality Management System Requirements
- Experience working in a Manufacturing and Engineering Lab environment. Some lab areas may require lab coat and additional gear to support of the lab’s cleanliness requirements.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment under deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.
