Tubing Mill HR in Houston, TX is seeking a Final Inspector to ensure end products meet contractual and regulatory requirements. You will perform visual and chemical analyses and support the quality control process.

The role requires basic math, data handling, and the ability to operate measurement tools; on-site, with potential overtime in a safety-focused manufacturing environment.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• 1 year of quality control experience or a 2-year technology degree.
• Knowledge of OCTG pipe industry preferred.
• English reading/writing with solid arithmetic and computer skills.
• Ability to organize large data sets and multi-task with good time management.
• Proficient with MS Office and ERP systems.

Responsabilidades

• Assist with final product analysis, both visual and chemical.
• Use micrometers, calipers, Pi tapes and snap gauges.
• Assist the Quality Manager in maintaining the final inspection.
• Confirm real weight matches the expected weight.
• Check WMS machinery is serviced before startup.
• Assist in repair and replacement of WMS equipment during maintenance shutdowns.
• Document production findings with appropriate technical devices.
• Communicate with Supervisor about problems with materials or equipment.
• Assist in housekeeping and quality.
• Assist in training plant personnel.
• Report to the immediate supervisor for daily task briefing.
• Maintain good housekeeping; work areas must be clean and debris-free.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Purpose

The Final Inspector will ensure all end products conform to contractual and regulatory requirements. Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with final product both visual and chemical analysis.
• Knows how to use micrometers, calipers, Pi tapes and Snap gages.
• Assist the Quality Manager in maintaining the final inspection.
• Confirmation that real weight agrees expected weight.
• Check that all WMS machinery is properly serviced before starting up.
• Assists in repair and replacement of WMS equipment during maintenance shutdowns.
• The employee is responsible for assisting with documentation and/or technical devices for recording production and findings.
• Communicating with Supervisor about any problems with material and equipment.
• Assist in Housekeeping, and Quality.
• Assist in the training of plant personnel.
• Employee must report to his immediate supervisor for briefing on daily tasks.
• Employees must maintain good housekeeping ethics. Work areas must be free and clear of debris.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Competencies

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Years of Experience:
• 1 years’ experience in quality control or a 2-year college degree in the technology field.
• Job Knowledge:
• At least Knowledge and experience within the OCTG pipe industry is preferable.
• Reading and writing of English as well as solid arithmetic and Computer skills.
• Ability to organize vast amounts of data and multi-task several priorities with excellent time management.
• Capable of working MS Office suite, especially Excel, and the ability to grasp an ERP System.
• Personal Competencies:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• The visibility of work requires attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and discretion with confidential information.
• Employees must be able to work with a flexible or rotating schedule which may require overtime when needed.
• Understands all applicable location safety rules and regulations and makes sure that all are being followed. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
• Loose-fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted on site.
• The ability to lift 25/50 pounds regularly.
• The ability to respond quickly to sounds.
• The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
• The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
• The ability to safely climb ladders while carrying 40 pounds.
• The ability to work in loud, hot environments/extreme weather while wearing required PPE.
• Ability to see 20-20 when corrected.
