Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Clean hulls, decks, cabins, windows, seating and storage areas.
  • Prepare boats for transport by securing loose items and ensuring cleanliness.
  • Inspect for visible damage or cleanliness issues and report to a supervisor.
  • Safely operate cleaning equipment and PPE as required.
  • Follow safety procedures and SOPs to maintain quality standards.
  • Maintain organized work areas and assist with additional duties as assigned.

Job description

The Final Detail Technician (Finisher) reports to the Quality Lead.

Position Overview

The Final Detail Technician is responsible for preparing boats for delivery to owners or dealers by performing thorough observation, cleaning, detailing, and basic preparation for delivery tasks. Installation of stickers, preparation for travel, package upholstery, additional options, etc. to ensure proper final presentation, quality and safety standards are met. The position requires physical work, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in an outdoor, marine environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleans hulls, decks, cabins, windows, seating, and storage compartments with products and tools provided in the SOP.
  • Removes dirt, manufacturing residue, grease, dust and debris using approved cleaning products and tools for various areas of the boat.
  • Prepares boats for transport by securing loose items and ensuring cleanliness standards are met according to quality control guidelines, SOP and safety.
  • Conduct basic inspections to identify visible damage, marks or cleanliness issues and report them to a supervisor.
  • Safely use cleaning equipment such as pressure washers, vacuums, hand tools and chemicals.
  • Follow company safety procedures and environmental guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment.
  • Maintain Safety training as assigned.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior experience in boat cleaning, auto detailing, or related work is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning products and proper use (marine experience preferred but not required) and safety guidelines associated with the products.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow instructions and safety protocols of cleaning products and work areas.
  • Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented attitude
  • Willingness to work outdoors and indoors with varying weather conditions
  • Valid driver's license may be required, depending on job duties
Physical Requirements & Limitations
  • Ability to Stand and Walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry/move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to frequently: climb, crawl, push, pull, lift, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl, speak, hear, visually inspect work, rotate arms at various angles, reach overhead, reach at or below shoulder level, gross, fine manipulation to operate hand and power tools, etc.
  • Read levels, temperatures and gauges.
  • Ability to maintain manual dexterity and stamina to perform repetitive cleaning tasks.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces within boat hulls and compartments.
  • Ability to climb ladders, climb into and maneuver around boat, work on heights, climb ladder to gain access to boat.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals, water, sun, heat, cold and other variable weather conditions.
  • Work in an environment with exposure to noise at levels not requiring ear protection, chemicals, and dust. Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, gloves, and eye protection.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE including safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, and respirators as required.
  • Work off a creeper.
  • Seasonal Temperatures may impact work environment.
