Job summary

Freeman Enclosure Systems is seeking a Final Assembler in Batavia, Ohio to join our manufacturing team. This role involves assembling prefabricated components according to blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and work instructions.

The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing or skilled trades, strong mechanical aptitude, and comfort using hand tools and reading a tape measure. Flexibility to assist in related departments as needed is required.

Qualifications

Position: Final Assembler

Employment Type: Full-Time

Freeman Enclosure Systems is seeking a Final Assembler to join our manufacturing team in Batavia, Ohio. The Final Assembler is responsible for assembling prefabricated components and completing final assembly work according to blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and work instructions.

The ideal candidate will have experience in an industrial, manufacturing, construction, mechanical, or skilled-trade environment and possess strong mechanical aptitude. This position requires someone who is comfortable using hand tools, accurately reading a tape measure, climbing ladders, and working with various mechanical components.

Flexibility is essential. Depending on production and shipping needs, the Final Assembler may be asked to assist in other related departments or perform additional duties to support overall plant operations.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and assembly instructions to accurately assemble prefabricated components.
  • Assemble, install, and secure components according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Use basic hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Accurately read and interpret a tape measure; a tape measure test will be required.
  • Use basic mechanical and carpentry skills to complete assembly tasks.
  • Apply basic automotive/mechanical knowledge when troubleshooting or assembling components.
  • Install and secure hardware, fasteners, fittings, and other components.
  • Climb ladders and work at elevated heights as required.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Inspect completed assemblies to ensure proper fit, alignment, installation, and quality.
  • Identify assembly issues and communicate concerns to supervisors or team members.
  • Work collaboratively with production, fabrication, shipping, and other departments.
  • Assist other departments when needed based on production and shipping demands.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Trade school, apprenticeship, technical training, or related on-the-job experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, construction, mechanical assembly, automotive, carpentry, or a skilled trade is highly desirable.
  • Basic blueprint or shop drawing experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of plumbing and fittings is a plus.
  • Experience with NPT and JIC fittings is helpful.
