Job summary

Wieland Small Tube Products in Wheeling, IL is seeking a Machine Operator for the Fin Tube milling centers. You will operate and inspect machines, ensure high quality, and assist with safety and housekeeping. The role emphasizes accurate data recording and adherence to environmental guidelines while supporting production goals on the 2nd shift.

Base pay is $21.00 per hour with a $0.50 shift differential and a 3pm–11pm schedule, Monday through Friday. Training will be provided to ensure success.

Qualifications

• Good written and communication skills.
• Ensure that the work area is clean, organized, and safe for all personnel.
• Report all incidents that may impact the area of work, material being produced, and other team members in their work group to supervisor.
• Suggest job-related improvements and cost-saving ideas.
• Perform related duties as assigned to meet requirements of the position and organizational expectations.
• Able to perform set-ups and quality troubleshooting as instructed to minimize impact to production flow.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Fin Tube milling machines to meet tolerances and finish requirements per drawings.
• Inspect in-process material and report nonconforming items per instructions.
• Maintain a clean, safe workplace and ensure PPE and safety devices function properly.
• Record quality data, scrap counts, and material usage in the system for inventory accuracy.
