2nd Shift Machine Operator – Wieland
Wieland is a global leader in copper and copper alloy manufacturing, processing, and distribution. Base Pay: $21.00/hr
Shift Differential: $0.50
Schedule: 2nd Shift (Monday – Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM)
Responsibilities
- Machine Operator Responsibilities: Set up and operate Fin Tube machines (understand tube types, material dimensions, identify defects, and interpret tube structure to determine conformance to condenser/boiler specifications) to perform a series of progressive milling operations with tight tolerances and finishing requirements per customer drawings.
- Inspect in-process material as specified in work instructions; report material not meeting criteria and follow proper steps for disposition according to procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area; ensure PPE, safeguarding, and protective devices are used according to EHS standards.
- Record quality data, scrap counts, and material usage using the WFS system to ensure accurate inventory and production movements.
Note: All duties and responsibilities are facility-specific; training will be provided.
Qualifications
- Good written and communication skills
- Ability to keep the work area clean, organized, and safe
- Report incidents that may impact production to a supervisor
- Suggest job-related improvements and cost-saving ideas
- Perform related duties to meet position requirements
- Able to perform set-ups and troubleshoot quality issues to minimize production impact
- Recognized as a strong contributor within the organization
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- CNC machining experience (a plus)
- Understanding of measurement math related to decimals and fractions; ability to perform basic math functions
- Manufacturing experience with knowledge of machine function and interfaces (HMI, calibration methods, programming, labeling, and direct production input)
Physical Demands
- Standing, walking, and climbing stairs/ladders on hot or cold production floors; environment may be slippery
- Personal Protective Equipment (safety glasses, safety shoes, hard hat, ear protection, etc.)
- Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
