Job summary

American Air Filter Company in Cedar Grove, NJ is seeking a Filter Service Tech Lead to coordinate a team of service technicians and ensure timely on-site service. You will organize work orders, manage truck usage, and supervise paperwork and safety checks.

The role requires strong communication, ability to climb ladders, and readiness to travel for service jobs. A high school diploma and HVAC basics are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years in the HVAC industry preferable.
• Basic HVAC technical knowledge.
• Use of basic hand tools.
• Forklift driver.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Must communicate with customers and coworkers.
• Comfortable driving company trucks.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all Service Techs have the correct orders for the day.
• Coordinate the use of company trucks.
• Ensure all orders are completed and returned to be processed in SAP.
• Perform visual inspections of each unit during the service.
• Take notes of any deficiencies and forward to manager to contact the customer.
• Ensure that the service truck is maintained properly and as noted in vehicles specification guide.
• Accountability of all tools.
• Loading truck, keep truck clean.
• Make initial contact with the person in charge when arriving on site and explain the day's work.
• Disposal of trash created from the work and obtain signatures on paperwork.
• Make deliveries and pickups when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Objective

The Filter Service Tech Lead coordinates the activities of a team of service techs; ensure customers are serviced in a timely manner and coordinates the use of company trucks.

Key Accountabilities

• Ensure all Service Techs have the correct orders for the day
• Coordinate the use of company trucks
• Ensure all orders are completed and returned to be processed in SAP
• Perform visual inspections of each unit during the service.
• Take notes of any deficiencies and forward it to manager to contact the customer.
• Ensure that the service truck is maintained properly and as noted in vehicles specification guide.
• Accountability of all tools.
• Loading truck, keep truck clean
• Make initial contact with the person in charge when arriving on site and explain the day's work.
• At the completion of the work will remove and dispose of all trash that was created from the work.
• Have the paperwork signed.
• Make deliveries and pickups when necessary
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Date and initial filters in filter bank
• Must be a team player, able to work w/ others
• Able to climb all types of ladders
• Not be afraid of heights
• Must clean all debris and spent filters off of roof tops and dispose properly
• On occasion be able to go out of town for service jobs

Requirements

2. One to two years in the HVAC industry preferable, but not required;
3. Basic HVAC technical knowledge;
4. Use of basic hand tools;
5. Forklift driver;
6. Valid Driver's License;
7. Basic math skill is needed to be able to figure percentages and to verify figures;
8. Must be able to communicate w/ customers and coworkers;
9. Must be comfortable driving our types of work trucks.

Salary Description

$24.00 - $25.00 per hour
