Job summary

The Nicholson School of Communication and Media at the University of Central Florida invites applications for an instructor or lecturer in Film and Media Production and Management. The position begins August 2027 as a 9-month, non-tenure earning appointment with renewal and potential promotion based on service.

The selected candidate will teach undergraduate courses, may teach at the graduate level, and support the Film MFA with critiques, mentoring, and graduate committees.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Film Production or terminal degree for lecturer in Film/related field by hire date.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to work in a collaborative educational environment.
• Proficiency with production design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Unreal, DaVinci Resolve or Toon Boom.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses; may teach graduate courses depending on highest degree.
• Support the Film MFA by critiquing, mentoring and serving on graduate thesis committees.
• Teach in modalities including face-to-face and online; participate in advising and service activities.
• Engage in faculty meetings, committee work and student success initiatives.
