Job summary

JBT Marel is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our team. You will service and repair JBT Marel-sold equipment at customer sites, performing mechanical, electrical, and controls work as a filler and seamer technician in the field.

You will set up and adjust machines, troubleshoot electromechanical systems, and conduct preventative maintenance while maintaining safety and quality standards. Occasional travel up to 75% is required.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of mechanical/electrical/controls experience or field service work on canning fillers/sealers.
• Two-year technical school training or equivalent field experience preferred.
• Proficient computer skills including email, Word and Excel on iPad or smartphone.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety-focused maintenance and setup on Powder Filling, Liquid Filling, Seaming, and Blending equipment.
• Install, commission and set up filler/seamer products at customer sites.
• Diagnose issues, replace parts, and repair electromechanical systems in the field.
• Travel up to 75% with onsite/hybrid work as required.

JBT Marel is seeking a skilled Field Service technician to join our team. You will be responsible for servicing and repairing JBT Marel-sold equipment at our customer sites. In this role, you will perform technical mechanical, electrical, and controls work as a Filler and Seamer Technician. Strategically manage the field service activities surrounding these product lines while working actively to expand and grow the business.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Perform all duties in accordance with JBT Marel safety policies and procedures while maintaining a safety-focused work mentality.
• Performance maintenance and setup work on all JBT Marel products including, but not limited to, Powder Filling, Liquid Filling, Seaming, and Blending machinery. Be able to use metric system using tape measure / tools to assembly equipment
• Set up and adjust machines in the field to equipment specifications.
• Customer oriented with a positive/ can do attitude
• Strong electromechanically inclined abilities to troubleshoot and repair machinery hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical components.
• Perform machine audits, repairs, and preventative scheduled maintenance.
• Conduct inventory of new equipment prior to start of installation
• Install, commission, and set up JBT Marel filler/seamer products in customer facilities.
• Diagnose problems, dismantle machines, replace defective parts, and reassemble machines.
• Welding skills a plus
• Identify and articulate root cause problem statements while troubleshooting.
• Safety conscious leader, with a proven track record on safety.
• Changeover and setup change parts running clearance and timing.
• Strong written and communication skills with ability to write detailed, technical reports.
• Good interpersonal skills with a positive and professional attitude.
• Must demonstrate participation, leadership, and commitment to the execution of JBT Marel strategies.
• Cross training is an expectation and when applicable, provide training to customers and coworkers alike.

Education And Experience Requirements

• 4-6 years of mechanical/electrical/controls experience OR field service experience including working knowledge of canning filler/seamer product lines
• Two-year technical school training or related field experience preferred
• Basic computer skills - including iPad and smart phone, use of email, Word, Excel, etc.
• Travel includes nights and weekends and may fluctuate due to business need/priority.
• Experience working on seamers, Blenders or Fillers, and Capping equipment, preferred.
• Manufacturing experience in food and beverage industry preferred.

Travel & Location

• You will be onsite/hybrid and travel up to 75% of the time.
