Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. is seeking a hands-on Dairy Production Operator to safely run gable-top carton filling lines and related packaging equipment. You will follow SOPs, collect samples for QA, and maintain accurate production records in a 24/7 facility.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in dairy/food manufacturing and familiarity with QA/QC acronyms; advanced quality training is a plus. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years in food manufacturing, dairy preferred.
  • Advanced quality/food safety training and/or certifications is a plus.
  • Familiar with industry acronyms (SQF, QA/QC, HACCP, GMP, SOP, 5S).

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate production equipment including gable-top carton filling and packaging.
  • Follow SOPs in detail and document production records accurately.
  • Collect routine product samples and perform dye and seal integrity checks.
  • Set up cartons, coders, and verify product codes per specifications.
  • Identify and communicate out-of-spec conditions and follow notifications.
  • Safely operate a lift truck and comply with PPE and safety rules.

Position Responsibilities
  • Safe and efficient operation of production equipment to include: Gable-top carton filling and packaging equipment.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOP’s) in detail without deviation.
  • Collect routine product samples and perform routine seal integrity testing to inspect the carton for leaks, tears and perform dye inspections for quality assurance.
  • Set-up and use the appropriate gable-top cartons in accordance with the production run schedule.
  • Set-up packaging coders, validate product codes in accordance with code specifications.
  • Identify and effectively communicate any out-of-specification product conditions.
  • Follow the established notification protocol.
  • Perform routine equipment adjustments.
  • Safe operation of a lift truck.
  • Accurately and neatly complete production records and documents.
Job requirements
  • Minimum of (2)-two years of demonstrated work experience in food manufacturing, dairy food manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Advanced quality/food safety training and/or certifications is a plus, but not required.
  • An working understanding of food manufacturing acronyms (SQF, QA/QC, CQP, HACCP, SOP,5S, GMP, etc.).
Physical Demands
  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment which includes but not limited to: noise, changing temperatures (hot, wet, cold, humid), standing/walking/bending/stooping/climbing stairs, maneuvering around manufacturing equipment consistently throughout the shift.
  • Visual acuity with the ability to see color.
  • Working with chemicals, wearing personal protective equipment and following approved chemical handling procedures.
  • Physical lifting up to 40-lbs frequently throughout the shift.
  • Shift flexibility.
  • This is a hands-on role for a 24/7 manufacturing facility.
