Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. is seeking an entry-level production associate for our dairy processing facility in the United States. You will support filling, packaging and palletizing operations with strict adherence to SOPs and quality checks.

The role requires a high school diploma and 2 years of dairy or food manufacturing experience, with strong math, communication skills and forklift certification preferred. Competitive hourly wage and benefits offered.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated work experience in food manufacturing; dairy preferred.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Lift truck certification or ability to obtain certification per OSHA standards.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and ERP systems (SAP preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Provide rest breaks, meal periods and day off relief for team members in identified process areas.
  • Operate production filling and packaging equipment and related systems.
  • Set up, operate and replenish fiber gluer or taping equipment.
  • Follow SOPs in detail and maintain production records and reports.
  • Perform quality checks on packaging, seal integrity, and product codes.
  • Assist audits and maintain safety and housekeeping standards.

Position Responsibilities
  • Provide rest breaks, meal periods and day off relief for team members in identified process, filling and packaging positions in accordance with work schedules.
  • Safe and efficient operation of production filling and packaging equipment to include: product fill systems, automated case forming, packaging, case packing and palletizing equipment.
  • Set-up, operate and replenish fiber gluer and/or taping equipment.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOP’s) in detail without deviation.
  • Collect routine product samples and perform routine seal integrity testing to inspect the packaging for leaks, tears and perform required fill package inspections for quality assurance.
  • Generate pallet identification labels in accordance to the production schedule. This includes the verification of case quantity, product, product ID and production dates.
  • Set-up case coding equipment and validate product case codes in accordance with code specifications.
  • Verify and record accurate product case quantities.
  • Identify and effectively communicate any out-of-specification product conditions.
  • Follow the established notification protocol.
  • Perform routine equipment adjustments.
  • Accurately and neatly complete production records, break relief reports and documents.
  • Perform equipment change-overs, clean-up operations and equipment set-up.
  • Perform environmental controls.
  • Safe operation of lift truck.
  • Perform product reclaim and rework operations in accordance with reclaim guidelines.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Follow all established occupational health and safety procedures.
  • Follow all established GMP’s and Food Safety requirements.
  • Cross-train with other departments.
  • Perform good housekeeping within established housekeeping guidelines.
  • Comply with federal, state and local dairy food regulations.
  • Adhere to the Saputo code of ethics and actively apply the Saputo values.
  • Work together professionally in a team environment with coworkers and other department personnel.
  • Other duties as required by management.
Job requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  • Minimum of (2)-two years of demonstrated work experience in food manufacturing, dairy food manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Advanced quality/food safety training and/or certifications is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Strong technical skills, ability to operate and understand equipment controls, touch panels and mechanical operations.
  • Possess lift truck certification or ability to obtain lift truck certification (Powered Industrial Trucks) per OSHA standards.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good PC skills, efficiency with MS Excel and ERP applications, SAP preferred.
  • Demonstrated work history.
  • Demonstrated good attendance is a must.

Hourly rate: $22.91/hr
