Job summary

Aerotek in Skokie, IL is seeking a Filler Operator to set up, operate, and adjust filling equipment on a fast-paced food production line. You will monitor quality, perform routine checks, and assist with line changes while following GMP and safety rules.

The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a bilingual English/Spanish environment. This is a permanent, onsite position with multiple shifts, including 1st and 3rd shift, in Skokie, IL.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in food production and/or manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to operate filling machines and related production equipment.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly.
  • Basic math and measurement skills to verify fill levels, weights and quantities.
  • Strong attention to detail when checking labels, lot codes, and packaging.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Familiarity with GMP and food manufacturing standards.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • 2+ years of experience specifically as a filler operator is a plus.
  • Experience operating or working around forklifts is beneficial.
  • Bilingual skills, particularly Spanish, are an advantage.
  • Previous experience in machine operation and machine troubleshooting within food manufacturing.
  • Comfort working in a team-oriented production environment with shifting priorities.

  • Support general production and machine operation tasks as needed to meet production goals.

Job Title: Filler Operator

The Filler Operator sets up, operates, and adjusts filling equipment on a fast-paced food production line to ensure products are filled, labeled, and packaged accurately and safely. Work Environment

This role operates within a food manufacturing facility that runs multiple shifts, including a 1st shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and a 3rd shift from 11:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. The production floor is a bit colder due to food safety and product quality requirements, and work is consistently fast-paced to meet production targets. Team members regularly interact in both English and Spanish, and supervisors are bilingual to support clear communication. You will work around filling machines, production lines, and general manufacturing equipment while following GMP and safety standards, wearing appropriate production and safety attire as required for a food processing environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Skokie, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
