Job summary

American Welding & Gas, Inc. in Baytown, TX, is seeking a Fill Plant Operator to manufacture compressed gas and liquid products, perform pre-fill inspections, fill and label cylinders for shipment. You may move, load/unload, and store cylinders as needed.

The role requires reading SOPs, understanding gauges, and maintaining safety standards while ensuring paperwork accuracy and regulatory compliance. Forklift experience is a plus; high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• Read, understand, and follow SOPs.
• Read and interpret gauges and analog dials.
• Perform pre-fill inspections and labeling.
• Move and handle cylinders safely.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and follow all SOPs.
• Ensure manifolds meet required specifications daily.
• Ensure cylinders pass pre-fill inspections prior to filling.
• Fill cylinders as outlined in the SOP.
• Move and store compressed gas and liquid cylinders.
• Label cylinders correctly and complete paperwork.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP, HazMat, OSHA and others.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

American Welding & Gas Inc has an immediate opening for a Fill Plant Operator at our gas cylinder production/distribution facility in Baytown, TX!

Position Summary

This position will have the primary responsibility for the manufacturing of compressed gas and liquid products, which includes pre-fill inspection of cylinders, filling, labeling and analysis or quarantine of cylinders prior to release for shipment. In this role, the ideal candidate must also move and store cylinders and may load/unload cylinders for transport.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
• Ensure manifold meets required specifications (daily)
• Ensure all cylinder’s pass required pre-fill inspections prior to filling
• Fill cylinders as outlined in the SOP
• Move compressed gas or liquid cylinders
• Correctly label cylinders
• Ensure completion and accuracy of paperwork
• Ensure compliance with cGMP, HazMat, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications And Education Requirements

• High school diploma/GED
• Able to read and write English
• Able to read and interpret gauges and analog dials
• Able to move compressed gas and liquid cylinders
• Forklift skills and experience a plus
• Ability to lift 75-100 lbs.
• Must be detail-oriented, flexible and work well with other people
• Ability to perform duties in a safety-conscious manner with minimal supervision
