Job summary

BMS is seeking a Filing Room Equipment Service Technician to service and upgrade saw filing room equipment across the Southern U.S., with extensive travel required. You will read blueprints, troubleshoot electromechanical systems, and communicate effectively with customers and project teams.

Qualifications

• Diploma, degree or trade qualification in a mechanical or electromechanical field.
• Electromechanical installation experience.
• Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, drives and lubricating systems.
• Ability to read mechanical blueprints and electrical drawings.
• Electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Computer experience writing reports.
• Ability to travel extensively in the Southern U.S.
• Knowledge of saw filing room equipment preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

We are actively seeking a Filing Room Equipment Service Technician to join our Service team and help continue our tradition of innovation and market leadership. This position supports customers throughout the Southern U.S. region and requires extensive travel throughout the Southern U.S. Come and grow with us!

How you Will Make a Positive Impact:

• Service, install, and upgrade various saw filing room equipment for the wood processing industry at customer sites.
• Complete service calls and regular site visits accurately and in a timely manner.
• Provide preventive and corrective maintenance for electromechanical systems to support equipment reliability, quality, and safe operation.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, drive, and lubrication systems as needed.
• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints and electrical drawings to support service and troubleshooting activities.
• Communicate effectively with customers, sellers, engineers, and project managers to understand and resolve customer requirements.
• Prepare service documentation and reports using word processing and related computer programs.
• Promote quality, safety, and customer satisfaction while performing service work at customer sites.
• Work irregular hours and overtime as required to meet business and customer needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Value You Bring:

• Diploma, degree, or trade qualification in a mechanical or electromechanical field, such as industrial mechanic, millwright, saw filer, mechanical technician, or mechanical technologist; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Electromechanical machine installation experience.
• Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, drives, and lubricating systems.
• Ability to read mechanical blueprints and electrical drawings.
• Electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Computer experience writing reports in a word processing program.
• Ability to work effectively with customers and communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to travel extensively throughout the Southern U.S. to support customer locations.
• Knowledge of saw filing room equipment preferred but not required.
• PLC knowledge and understanding preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of sawmill operations preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining safety, quality, and customer service standards.
• Reliable with a good work ethic.
