Job Overview

The Infrastructure Technical Specialist (ITS) acts as the primary administrator for the DIAL AWS GovCloud environment, overseeing platforms such as AMANDA, FileCloud, and the DIAL Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). This role includes managing these cloud-based systems, providing FileCloud administration and technical support, and ensuring reliable operations and seamless user experiences across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Administer the DIAL AWS GovCloud environment and associated platforms.
• Manage FileCloud administration, including staff onboarding, troubleshooting, and user support.
• Maintain secure, compliant cloud infrastructure and monitor operational performance.
• Oversee AWS infrastructure for VDI and business applications.
• Handle on‑call nightly and weekend patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to provide effective documentation and status updates.

Qualifications

• Broad experience with cloud adoption, including application readiness assessment, prototyping, server builds, and data migration.
• Enterprise systems administrator experience with deployment automation tools.
• Experience with major cloud service providers such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Design and implementation of distributed systems on private or public cloud infrastructure.
• Expertise in troubleshooting complex distributed environments, connectivity, application performance, and monitoring.
• Advanced knowledge of system security methods and techniques.
• Proficiency in Windows, Linux, and command‑line interfaces; 1–2 years of experience with virtual machine infrastructure.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Initiative to proactively learn new systems, processes, and business functions.
• Prior on‑call experience handling nightly and weekend patching and upgrades.
