Job Summary

Primary administrator for the DIAL AWS GovCloud environment, overseeing essential platforms such as AMANDA, FileCloud, and the DIAL Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). Responsibilities include managing cloud-based systems, FileCloud administration, delivering comprehensive technical support to all FileCloud users, ensuring reliable operations and seamless user experiences across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the DIAL AWS GovCloud environment and key platforms (AMANDA, FileCloud, VDI).
• Administer FileCloud, including staff onboarding, troubleshooting, and technical support.
• Maintain critical environments to ensure reliable operations and seamless user experiences.
• Handle on-call nightly and weekend patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Provide clear status updates, adhere to quality standards, and work collaboratively.

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience managing AWS infrastructure supporting business applications.
• Experience managing AWS infrastructure for VDI.
• FileCloud administration – onboarding, issue resolution, and user support.
• Knowledge of advanced system security methods and techniques.
• Ability to execute tasks autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Proactive learning of new systems, processes, and business functionalities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• On-call patching and upgrade management.

Qualifications

• Broad experience with cloud adoption, including application readiness assessment, prototyping of new environments, server builds, and data migration.
• Enterprise systems administration in client/server environments, with deployment automation tools.
• Customer-facing support or consulting experience.
• Experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Design and implementation of distributed systems architecture on private or public clouds.
• Troubleshooting complex distributed environments, connectivity, app performance, monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of hardware, software, networking, and storage.
• Strategic planning and advice for adoption or migration of cloud technologies.
• Performance tuning of cloud environments.
• Proficiency in Windows, Linux, CLI with 1–2 years of VM infrastructure experience.
• Technical knowledge of network, storage, Linux/Windows, application knowledge of Java, .Net, IT security.
