The Sandpoint Waldorf School is seeking an enthusiastic Fifth Grade Teacher to join our faculty for the 2026-27 school year and ideally through the graduation of the class in eighth grade. The ideal candidate should have completed Waldorf teacher training and have experience teaching through the grades with artistry and imagination in teaching, as well as strong, flexible classroom management skills, and a collaborative spirit.
SWS, which serves students from preschool through eighth grade, has an experienced, dedicated faculty that works collaboratively and is deeply committed to Waldorf pedagogy and anthroposophy. Our program includes music, strings, ed support/extra lesson, handwork, woodwork, Spanish, Japanese, and movement. When it is feasible, we also offer a block of eurythmy.
Sandpoint in north Idaho is nestled on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille between two mountain ranges which offer many opportunities for outdoor activities including down hill and Nordic skiing. The city of almost 10,000 has a robust arts community and is bicycle and pedestrian friendly.
