Expeditor / Barista Job Description
The Barista/Expo position at Fielding’s River Oaks is a key element in creating a positive, memorable guest experience. The position's primary focus is:
- Make coffee and non-alcohol beverages per the ticket.
- Organize and deliver food to the tables according to seat number (Pivot point system).
- Ring to-go food and deliver within the Novel building.
Other tasks apply from time to time such as organizing, cleaning, restocking, etc.
Essential Duties but not limited to:
- Maintain a positive attitude in high stress situations.
- Make coffee and other non-alcoholic beverages to standard and expectation, ready for service.
- Have strong core menu food knowledge.
- Pack to-go orders to expectation.
- Be able to use the LAVU POS to ring food for to-go orders.
- Deliver food and beverages to the guest table using the Pivot Point System.
- Possess a valid state Food Handlers License. Fielding’s will provide training as needed.
- Handle food and beverage in accordance with State and County food handler regulations.
- Present a professional, positive, well-kept, well-groomed appearance to standard.
- Be able to read food and beverage tickets.
- Be able to communicate with others in a positive manner.
- Work with the kitchen and service team to get the right food and beverage to the right guest using the Pivot point system (no food auction).
Competencies & Qualifications:
- To make all coffees and beverages using equipment to stated recipes using stated procedures.
- Be able to handle hot and beverage plates safely.
- Have a true happy disposition.
- Bi-lingual a plus.
- Like highly fluid situations.
- Be able to think on your feet quickly.
- Demonstrate interest and share knowledge of food.
- Able to lift and carry 25 pounds.
- Able to follow directions.
- Develop rapport with food expert to understand the full range of Fielding’s products and services.
- Consistently search ways to improve and promote a high level of guest service.
- Review and discuss guest and Partner feedback.
- Treat guests and Partners with respect.
