Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; plus minimum 1 year in water distribution maintenance and operation.
• Knowledge of water and wastewater systems and safety procedures.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand as-built drawings.
• Ability to operate backhoes, sewer cleaning trucks, forklifts and similar equipment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and tolerate hot, humid conditions.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains, and repairs water lines, meters, and fire hydrants.
• Perform preventive maintenance on water/wastewater systems and lift stations.
• Assist with daily maintenance and cleaning of lift stations.
• Operate heavy equipment as needed for repairs.
• Perform related work and respond to emergencies.
