Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Wastewater Treatment System Operator to join our Field Technical Solutions team in East Chicago, Indiana. This position will be 100% in the field at a client site providing operations for maintenance, and monitoring (OMM) activities for a groundwater extraction & treatment system.

The candidate should be hard-working, safety-focused and able to work independently after training, with flexibility for overtime, weekends, evenings, and emergency call-outs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ relevant experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical controls for treatment systems preferred.
• High School Degree.
• Valid Driver’s License with a clear driving record.
• Have TWIC card or the ability to obtain.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (e.g., Word, Excel)

Responsibilities

• Inspect and document routine checks for facility permit compliance.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and controls on equipment such as valves, air compressors, pumps, and instrumentation.
• Collect data from gauges, meters and displays onto digital forms.
• Operate, monitor, and optimize equipment performance.
• Conduct maintenance and calibration activities.
• Field implementation and troubleshooting of instrumentation and controls systems.
• Coordinate with electrical and mechanical subcontractors for field projects and repairs.
• Document site activities and communicate effectively with the project team.
