Job summary

JMT's Asheville Construction Management Team in North Carolina seeks a Utility Transportation Technician II to apply standard inspection procedures for NCDOT projects, coordinating installation and relocation of utilities across Division 11. Division 11 includes Alleghany, Ashe, Caldwell, Surry, Watauga, Wilkes and Yadkin Counties.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Active driver’s license.
2+ years of construction inspection experience on transportation projects or utility inspection.
4+ years of utility construction experience on transportation projects preferred.

Responsibilities

Review NCDOT Utility By Other Plans.
Coordinate and oversee relocation/installation of wet, dry, underground and overhead utilities.
Inspect and document utility contractor operations and verify conformance to plans/specifications.
Review NCDOT encroachments and complex utility plans.
Oversee traffic control installation reviews.
Perform routine material testing.
Measure and track quantities of pay items.
Maintain records including certifications and testing reports.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
