Job summary

Priority Dispatch Corp. seeks a field technician in Macon, GA to locate and map water and sewer lines. You will read engineering prints, visit sites, take measurements, and draft intersection cards to document findings.

Transfer data to tax maps, expose mains when directed, and support customers and contractors with accurate information. A valid Georgia driver's license is required for outdoor field work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with drafting or engineering surveying preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Reads engineering prints to help locate water and sewer main.
• Visits job sites and takes measurements; records measurements and drafts intersection cards.
• Transfers sewer and water main locations from engineer drawings to tax maps.
• Uses shovel or post hole diggers to expose water/sewer main when directed.
• Operates reproduction equipment to produce copies of drawings, intersection cards, and tax maps.
• Provides customer service over the telephone or in-person by providing information from drawings, tax maps, or intersection cards.
• Acts as a liaison between contractors and MWA to provide water and sewer location information.
• Notifies inspectors when ROW infringements are observed; notifies engineering of suspicious taps.
• Conducts utility damage investigations.
