Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) Construction Transportation Technician I/II in Salt Lake City is a hands-on role supporting highway construction projects. Responsibilities include inspection, materials testing, and project documentation to ensure safe, plan-compliant work.

The position may be filled at Technician I or II, with progression through the Construction Training Program (CTP). Starting pay ranges from $22.44 to $25.22 per hour, with benefits and training provided.

Formación

• A Class A CDL or ability to obtain within 18–24 months via UDOT training.
• Must be able to respond to Region Two within 30 minutes and provide 24‑hour availability.
• Smartphone with data plan provided by employee (UDOT allowance).</br>
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Commitment to completing required TEP training and certifications.

Responsabilidades

• Assist with inspection and documentation of UDOT construction projects.
• Perform materials testing to ensure compliance with project specs.
• Monitor contractor work to verify adherence to plans and standards.
• Document construction progress using department software systems.
• Collaborate with contractors and project teams to support project completion.
• Work outdoors in varying weather and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Assist with roadway maintenance operations after training as needed.
