Job summary

Foth is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector to support SCDOT projects in the Myrtle Beach/Florence, SC area. The role involves field inspection, documentation, materials testing, and coordinating with project teams to ensure work meets plans, contract requirements, and quality standards.

Ideal candidates have a minimum of 3 years of transportation construction inspection experience, a high school diploma or higher, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of transportation construction inspection experience
• Experience inspecting roadway, bridge, asphalt, concrete, drainage, utility, pedestrian facility, or earthwork
• Ability to work in field environments in Florence/Myrtle Beach, SC area
• Valid driver’s license
• Strong math, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Observe and document daily construction activities for transportation infrastructure projects
• Inspect roadway, bridge, drainage, utility, pedestrian facility, asphalt paving, resurfacing, and safety improvement work
• Verify construction work complies with project plans, specifications, contract requirements, safety requirements, and quality standards
• Sample and test construction materials, as required
• Measure quantities and maintain accurate project records
• Review contractor submittals and report non-compliance issues
• Complete daily inspection reports and project documentation
• Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to support successful project delivery
