Job summary

North American Substation Services (NASS), an Asplundh Power Company, is seeking skilled technicians for HV transformer inspection, testing, and maintenance across substations. The role involves outdoor work in various conditions and frequent travel to generation plants to support outages.

Ideal candidates will have HV testing skills (Doble/TTR), ability to read electrical diagrams, and a commitment to safety and accurate documentation of test results.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; electrical maintenance courses are a plus.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Able to crawl, climb, stand, and lift up to 50 lbs in HV substations.
• Pass a fit-for-duty exam.
• Willing to travel overnight domestically and internationally.
• Willing to work flexible hours, overtime, weekends, holidays, and nights.
• Able to travel up to 75% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced electrical testing on power transformers (Doble, TTR, capacitance, etc.).
• Conduct functional testing and calibration of transformer gauges and accessories.
• Support reliability testing during scheduled plant outages.
• Travel to generation plants for outage work during peak periods; document results.
