Job summary

Pollo Campero is seeking a Field Training Specialist to drive training excellence across assigned markets, strengthen capability, and ensure disciplined certification standards that enable confident execution and consistent results.

You will partner with General Managers and Team Trainers to design and deliver training programs, coach leaders, certify Team Trainers, and build sustainable systems that support brand standards and long‑term restaurant self‑sufficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Training & Development, Human Resources, Hospitality Management, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in QSR operations or multi-unit environments, in restaurant management or training positions.
  • 2+ years of training, coaching, facilitation, or talent development experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Knowledge and ability to analyze operational and training performance metrics.
  • Strong project management and organization skills.
  • Working knowledge of adult learning principles, operational training systems, and coaching methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and learning platforms.
  • Ability to travel extensively within assigned markets (up to 75%).

Responsibilities

  • Lead training and capability-building efforts for new implementations of new operational procedures, products, systems, and strategic initiatives partnering with General Managers and Team Trainers.
  • As field expert, partner with the Training and eLearning team to design training programs, materials and facilitation methods that align with restaurant needs.
  • Ensure training execution focuses on knowledge acquisition rather than content completion.
  • Identify, coach, develop, and certify Team Trainers.
  • Conduct training observations, reinforce responsibilities, and provide developmental feedback.
  • Ensure Team Trainers demonstrate both operational expertise and teaching capability.
  • Validate knowledge transfer and skill application through observation and performance assessments.
  • Establish Team Trainer routines, pipelines and succession plans within each restaurant.
  • Coach and develop restaurant leadership.
  • Lead, coach and follow-up on management positions training programs.
  • Coach General Managers and management teams on their leadership skills and coaching methodologies to effectively develop them in their roles.
  • Partner with field HR and Ops senior leadership to identify talent and build next generation of leaders.
  • Ensure managers can independently lead onboarding, cross-training, and development programs.
  • Partner with the General Managers to ensure compliance with the certification standards and recertification processes.
  • Support managers in creating restaurant-level development plans and sustain training programs.
  • Has clear understanding of training status within assigned markets.
  • Manage training certification reporting. Analyze data monthly and recommend actions.
  • Audit training effectiveness within assigned markets and provide improvement recommendations.
  • Visit restaurants regularly, role model company culture and plan and execute plans to support business goals.
  • Validate ongoing training effectiveness through restaurant visits and coaching sessions.
  • Partner with Area Managers to identify capability gaps and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support execution of restaurant opening training plans and validate operational readiness through training certifications for all positions.
  • Partner with operations leaders to select top performing Team Trainers prior to pre-opening training.
  • Ensure sustainable training systems are established during the first 60 days of opening.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Job description

The Field Training Specialist drives training excellence, strengthens training capability and ensures disciplined certification standards across assigned markets. The role partners and develops Team Trainers and Restaurant leaders so they can confidently perform their roles to drive and influence operational results through consistent execution and certification of training programs.

The person in this role is a key driver of operational excellence, leads the execution of training programs and strategic initiatives to ensure effective knowledge transfer and operational readiness. It establishes sustainable training systems that drive brand standards, operational compliance, team development and long-term restaurant self-sufficiency.

The position includes but is not limited to the below key responsibilities:

Training Delivery & Capability Building
