Job summary

The Clark County Public Works Department is seeking qualified candidates for the Traffic Systems Technician I/II position. This technical role conducts field installation, maintenance, and repair of existing traffic signals, pedestrian flashers, and school flasher facilities.

In this capacity you will support the Traffic Signal Unit to ensure proper operation of traffic systems. The position includes a training underfill at Technician I with potential non-competitive promotion to Technician II

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Electronics Technician or Electrical Training program completed.
• Minimum two years of skilled full-time experience in maintenance and repair of electronic/electrical equipment.
• Licensing and certifications listed under Licensing section as required.
• Traffic signal craft experience preferred for Technician II.

Responsibilities

• Design, layout, modification, and installation of traffic control systems and related components.
• Estimate materials and prepare cost estimates for jobs.
• Perform skilled traffic signal work including installation, maintenance, and repair of signals, cables, relays, and controllers.
• Read diagrams, blueprints, and manuals for installation and repair projects.
• Maintain records of work performed and materials used.
