Job summary
BKF Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Construction Inspector to perform on-site inspections ensuring compliance with contract requirements and permits.
The role involves daily field checks, material sampling, coordination with project management, and maintaining records for civil construction projects. Ideal candidates have 4+ years of inspection experience, a college degree or equivalent, and a valid California driver license.
Qualifications
- College degree or 5+ years of Transportation/Civil project experience.
- 5+ years supervising or inspecting civil construction work.
- Valid California Class C driver's license with acceptable record.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and report on a variety of construction projects.
- Advise Resident Engineer or Agency Project Manager of variances from plans.
- Take material samples and assist field tests or refer samples for lab analysis.
- Check utilities locations to avoid interference with works.
- Review traffic control plans and project safety.
- Inspect earthwork, asphalt, concrete, and reinforcing steel.
- Maintain inspection records, diaries, and material quantities.
- Assist in review of submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
