Job summary

Vylor is seeking a Field Testing Specialist to join our York, Nebraska research station. You will support multi-crop seed filling, seed preparation and data collection, while operating planting, harvesting and spraying equipment.

You’ll contribute agronomic insight, track data quality and assist with experiment planning and mapping to drive field results. The role requires knowledge of agronomy, crop production and plot design, plus leadership and time management skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Associate degree in agriculture or science related field with 2-4 years industry experience.
  • Strong knowledge of agronomy, crop production, plant development and plot design.
  • Attention to detail in a fast-paced field research environment.
  • Ability to lead, supervise and manage time; effective communication.
  • Experience with data management, data collection systems and GPS.
  • Capability to obtain pesticide applicator license and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Support York Research Center operations with seed filling, seed prep and data collection.
  • Operate planting, harvesting and field spray equipment; use remote sensing tools.
  • Maintain agronomic plots; manage weed control and plot maintenance.
  • Collect data, verify data quality and assist with experiment planning and mapping.
  • Supervise part-time crews to complete field activities per protocols.
  • Be available for overtime during planting/harvest and work in varied conditions.
