This role involves installing sensors on customer equipment, diagnosing software, and collecting data while traveling across the Western United States. You will collaborate with engineers and customers, solving cutting-edge smart machine challenges and maintaining detailed records.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with GPA 2.5+ required.
• Mechanically inclined with hands-on problem solving.
• Strong technology and computer troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to travel for six weeks or more at a time.
• Valid U.S. drivers license with a clean record.
• Outgoing, positive attitude.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work long hours, including some night operations.
• Ability to keep accurate, detailed records of work performed.

Job description

Sage Ag Inc. is currently seeking hardworking, self‑motivated, & detailed oriented individuals who are passionate about technology & machinery.

Through this position you will be working with a forestry technology company in a production logging environment. This position is 95% travel throughout California and the Pacific Northwest and requires extensive periods away from home.

You will be working independently and as a team with engineers, technicians, & customers on the cutting edge of smart machine technology. In this exciting position you will install, diagnose, and monitor proprietary software applications specific to the forestry industry.

Responsibilities

• Install sensors and cameras on customer‑owned forestry equipment
• Report machine issues directly to design engineers
• Gather critical machine information and test data
• Upload data to software engineers
• Perform frequent software updates

Requirements

• Minimum GPA of 2.5 in an engineering major
• Mechanically inclined
• Strong technology and computer troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Willing to travel for six weeks or more at a time
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License with a clean driving record
• Outgoing
• Positive attitude
• Proficient with Microsoft Office

Details

Job Duration: September 1, 2026 – January 31, 2027 (opportunity for full‑time may be available)

Location: Based out of Slater, Iowa. Traveling required throughout the Western United States including California, Oregon, Washington.

Compensation: Salary Range $60,000–$70,000 per year. All travel expenses paid by Sage Ag Inc. Benefits available to full‑time employees.
