Job summary

Idtus is actively seeking a Field Test Engineer to work in a dynamic team setting focused on innovative defense technologies. The position is based in San Diego, CA, where the engineer will provide support for deployed hardware and software systems critical to the Department of Defense. The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and experience with mission-critical environments.

The role includes tasks such as operational support, deployment, and training of systems, as well as troubleshooting during test events. A strong ability to communicate with senior military personnel is essential.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of related experience.
• Experience with mission-critical hardware and software systems.
• Ability to learn unique hardware/software deployment configuration.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational and maintenance support of deployed software/hardware infrastructure.
• Perform deployment, installation, training, and operational support of new infrastructure.
• Coordinate with senior warfighters and government sponsors.

Skills

Hands-on experience in deploying and maintaining applications

Ability to communicate with senior warfighters and test leads

Understanding of performing test and integration

Ability to apply troubleshooting techniques

Ability to travel up to 50%

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or other STEM field
