Job summary

Axens North America is seeking a Technology Engineer (Adsorbents & Claus, Field Services) in Houston, TX. The role provides technical support for adsorbent-based purification and Claus technologies and delivers after-sales field assistance across Axens’ technology portfolio.

The candidate should have 3+ years in gas, petrochemical or refining, with field experience in commissioning/startups and strong fundamentals in reaction engineering and catalysis. Travel up to 30% is expected.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or relevant discipline required.
• 3+ years in gas, petrochemical and/or refining with catalysis and adsorption experience.
• Field experience in commissioning/startup/shutdown or ongoing operational support.
• Knowledge in chemical engineering fundamentals including reaction engineering and catalysis.
• Experience with PRO/II or similar process simulation software; Excel-based modeling tools preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% domestically or internationally.
• Spanish language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develops and provides technical know-how for the technologies of specialization.
• Focuses on day-to-day technology and services tasks with supervision from senior engineers.
• Develops and presents technical projections for catalyst/adsorbent replacement.
• Prepares and supports technical proposals and studies for clients evaluating Axens technologies.
• Supports Commercial team in developing commercial proposals for ROC Catalyst & Adsorbent and Process Licensing.
• Provides after-sales technical service: monitors client units, optimizes operations, and troubleshoots.
• Maintains long-term client relationships and demonstrates Axens expertise.
• Provides on-site or field assistance during startups, turnarounds, and commissioning.
