Job summary

ONE Gas in Tulsa, OK is seeking personnel for advanced pipeline construction and maintenance on transmission and distribution systems. Responsibilities include driving crew truck, operating a wide range of tools, performing routine equipment maintenance, and maintaining incident and leak reports.

Applicants should have 1+ years of relevant experience, CDL and operator qualifications, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

Two to four years of relevant experience; minimum of one year required

Experience with tools and equipment applicable to pipeline construction/maintenance
Ability to read and interpret maps, blueprints, and job orders
Knowledge of natural gas characteristics and safety procedures
CDL and operator qualifications are expected

Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment
Maintain records (hours, orders, mileage, accidents, leak reports)
Investigate customer orders and emergency situations (low pressure, leaks, fires)
Attend work reliably and perform additional duties as assigned

Job description

Performs an advanced level of construction and maintenance operating work related to a pipeline system. Perform pipeline construction, installation, maintenance, and removal work on transmission and distribution pipelines.

Responsibilities

Drive and maintain crew truck. Load, unload, and operate tools and equipment including but not limited to:
- Pipe and crescent wrenches
- Pipe cutters and threaders
- Air compressors and generators
- Plastic fusion irons
- Jackhammers and concrete saws
- Mini and large backhoe
- Combustible Gas Indicators
- Tapping equipment
- No blow equipment
- Forklift
- Respirators
- Oxygen analyzer
- Ultrasound equipment
- Electro fusion equipment/processor
Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
Maintain various records including but not limited to:
- Hours worked
- Orders completed
- Mileage reports
- Accident/first aid reports
- Leak reports
Investigate customer related orders and/or emergency situations but not limited to:
- Low Pressure calls
- Class 1 Leaks
- Blowing lines
- Fires/explosions
- Undetectable lines
Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

This role typically calls for two to four years of relevant experience; Minimum of one-year relevant experience is required.

Experience

Experience in use, function, maintenance, and repair of tools and equipment applicable to position.
Experience in application of basic arithmetic:
- addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division (tested).
Experience in construction and maintenance of transmission and/or distribution pipeline systems.
Experience and training relative to:
- Working in excavations and/or confined spaces
- Basic customer service activities
- Company and governmental operating/safety procedures
- Fusing plastic pipe
- Characteristics of natural gas
Experience in reading and interpreting maps, atlas pages, blueprints, and job orders.
Experience and knowledge in basic computer functions and relevant software.
Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.

Licenses and Certifications

CDL Required.

Applicable driver's license.

Applicable Operator Qualifications.

Additional Requirements

Lift or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds 10-15 times a day; up to 40 pounds 7-10 times a day; over 50 pounds 10-12 times a day.
Climb into and out of excavations.
Travel over uneven terrain including but not limited to:
- Mud
- Gravel
- Sand
- Rocks
- Ice
- Snow
React immediately to emergency situations to prevent injury to self and others.
Smell odorant in natural gas.
Detect and react to warning signals at work sites.Able to operate tools and equipment required.
Communicate and/or exchange information or instructions including use of company two-way radio and/or company cell phones.
Peripheral vision and accurate depth perception.
Visual abilities sufficient to perform job duties.
