Duke's is now looking for a new Field Technician to join our Root Control division. Our field crews tackle the root of the problem nationwide! If you are at least 21 years old, enjoy problem solving and adventure, this may be for you.

This position is based out of Syracuse, NY, and is a traveling position of at least 75% of the time nationally.

What You Will Do:

Our crews are the true backbone of our company. As a Field Technician on the Root Control Team, you will be the one servicing our customers by applying our exclusive Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-registered herbicide to control nuisance tree roots in sanitary sewer line collections. You will be providing these services driving to and from various treatment locations while also representing the Company and our services on a professional level.

  1. Will abide by all safety procedures and policies, including wearing required PPE for your safety
  2. Are at least 21 years old
  3. Have a valid driver's license with a clean MVR record
  4. Are willing to undergo a DOT physical, drug screen, and a background/MVR check
  5. Are able and willing to travel nationally at least 75% of the time (business travel expenses are paid + per diem)
  6. Must be able to carry and lift up to 65 lbs. of equipment and tools from vehicle to problem area several times per day
  7. Walking on uneven ground and through shrubbery, bushes, etc.
  8. Must be able to crawl and kneel in access areas
  9. Must be able to lift and remove manhole covers and/or enter confined spaces
  10. Must be able to tolerate occasional exposure to extremes in temperature, humidity or wetness, and excessive noise
  11. All tasks must be able to be successfully completed with or without accommodations

Compensation: Pay range for this position is approximately $50,000 - $60,000 during the first year of employment on a piece rate pay schedule.
