Field Technician – Optical Transport Installations

Job summary

Entegro is seeking experienced Field Technicians to support deployment and commissioning of Infinera MTC-9 IOP Plus and GX-G42 platforms across customer optical transport networks in the US. You will work with Professional Services Engineers and Network Operations to install, cable, verify and document deployments.

Responsibilities include rack builds, fibre cabling, power and grounding setup, testing with optical meters and VFLs, and ensuring safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience installing telecommunications or optical transport equipment.
• Experience working within carrier, service provider or data centre environments.
• Strong fibre optic handling, patching and cable management skills.
• Experience installing rack-mounted telecommunications equipment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, rack elevations and installation documentation.
• Experience using optical test equipment, including optical power meters and Visual Fault Locators (VFLs).
• Willingness to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

• Install Infinera MTC-9 IOP Plus and GX-G42 equipment into customer racks.
• Install fibre and copper cabling and manage cable routing.
• Verify installations against engineering designs and rack layouts.
• Perform power, grounding and hardware verification.
• Support commissioning and acceptance testing with project teams.
