Job summary

Opifex-Synergy is seeking a Field Technician to manage on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and testing of heavy equipment. You will diagnose errors, determine solutions, and provide service and customer support during field visits and dispatches.

You must have a High School Diploma or GED, extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment, and proven field service experience. Valid driver's license and own tools are required, with willingness to travel.

• Proven field service experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and diagnoses all types of equipment to ensure proper working condition on the job site or in the shop.
• Performs routine equipment clean-up and upkeep as well as safety review and pre-delivery inspections.
• Inspects, diagnoses, repairs, reconditions, and adjusts heavy equipment as required and completes all related paperwork.
• Participate in all training programs directed by Manager.
• Bring to the attention of the Service Manager any shop tools, equipment, or vehicles that are not in serviceable condition or unsafe to use.
• Maintains tools in good working order per MSHA and OSHA regulations.
• Completes basic computer tasks including work orders, parts lookup, and email communication.
• Communicates with coworkers and customers to ensure top-quality equipment and customer satisfaction.
• Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches.
• Tie workflow to schedule.
• Manage all on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks.
• Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions.
• Produce timely and detailed service reports.
• Operate vehicle safely and use field automation systems.
• Follow all company field procedures and protocols.
• Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization.
• Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations or briefings.
• Build positive customer relationships
• Exhibit strong teamwork
• Willing to train and assist other team members with difficult or extended repairs
