Job summary

Aeroseal is seeking a Field Technician in the Edison, NJ area to improve residential energy performance through air sealing, duct sealing, and diagnostic testing support. You will work directly on active construction sites to help builders meet energy codes, pass inspections, and achieve HERS ratings.

Responsibilities include performing air sealing, assisting with duct sealing, blower door testing, and identifying building envelope deficiencies, while maintaining safety and quality on site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Background check and drug screening must be passed prior to hire.
• Valid driver’s license required and ability to travel regionally.

Responsibilities

• Perform air sealing installation including caulking, foaming, weatherstripping, and sealing building envelope penetrations.
• Execute or assist with duct sealing activities on HVAC systems.
• Support blower door testing and duct leakage testing.
• Identify air leakage and insulation deficiencies in the building envelope.
• Coordinate with builders and site supervisors to address performance issues.
• Ensure compliance with IECC, ENERGY STAR, and HERS program requirements.
• Document completed work, test results, and conditions on site.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and jobsite cleanliness.

SUMMARY:

Aeroseal is looking for a Field Technician, in the Edison, NJ area that will assist us in our mission by improving residential energy performance through air sealing, duct sealing, and diagnostic testing support. This position works directly on active construction sites to help builders meet energy code requirements, pass inspections, and achieve HERS ratings.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Construction, insulation, or HVAC experience preferred
• Basic understanding of building science and energy efficiency
• Ability to work in confined spaces and physically demanding conditions
• Strong attention to detail and quality of work
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites

Performance Expectations:

• Achieve required blower door and duct leakage targets
• Minimize rework and failed inspections
• Maintain productivity and meet builder schedules
• Deliver consistent, high-quality installation and testing support

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform air sealing installation including caulking, foaming, weatherstripping, and sealing building envelope penetrations

Experience You'll Need to Do It

• High school diploma or GED - New graduates welcomed and encouraged to apply!
• Valid driver's license
• Due to the nature of federal and government contracts, candidate must be able to pass a background check, including drug screening, prior to hire.

Requirements:

• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Valid Driver's License and a clean background required (3 years)
• Willingness to travel regionally as needed
• Must be able to lift at least 60 lbs
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
