Job Summary:

This position is responsible for repairing construction machines, component assemblies, and parts in the shop and field. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, ordering parts, writing technical reports, warranty reporting, maintaining company assets, and effective communication with team members.

Responsibilities:
  1. Repair equipment and components, including:
  1. Developing repair plans and sequences
  2. Determining necessary parts, materials, tooling, etc.
  3. Performing repairs safely and correctly, with quality assurance testing of the repaired component, system, and machine
  • Complete reports legibly and promptly for parts ordering, tooling usage, service reports, and work orders
  • Communicate repair progress with your supervisor as required
  • Order and return parts and materials through the company’s parts system
  • Manage special tools and maintain shop equipment properly, including air compressors, cleaning tanks, cranes, etc.
  • Use company vehicles, service trucks, and fuel cards responsibly
  • Keep work areas and service vehicles clean and safe
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe and updated condition
  • Follow all company policies and safety guidelines
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager
Education/Experience/Skills:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent; or an Associate Degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology, or four years of apprenticeship experience. Technician classification depends on experience, knowledge, and competence.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel. Also, required to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, lift, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear. Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment:

The role involves exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, weather extremes, and vibration. Noise levels are moderate to loud.
