Job Summary:

This position is responsible for repairing construction machines, component assemblies, and parts in the shop and field. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, ordering parts, writing technical reports, warranty reporting, maintaining company assets, and effective communication with team members.

Responsibilities:

1. Repair equipment and components, including:

• Developing a repair plan and sequence
• Determining necessary parts, materials, tooling, etc.
• Performing repairs safely and properly, with quality assurance testing of repair components, systems, and machines

• Complete all reports legibly and timely, including parts orders, tooling usage, daily service reports, and work order closures
• Communicate repair progress with supervisor as required
• Retrieve and return parts and materials through the company's parts ordering system
• Manage special tools and equipment, including proper care and use of shop tools and major equipment like air compressors, cleaning tanks, and cranes
• Use company vehicles, service trucks, and fuel cards responsibly
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and service vehicle
• Keep tools and tool carriers in safe, updated condition
• Follow all company policies and safety guidelines
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager

Education, Experience, and Skills:

High School Diploma or G.E.D., or an Associate Degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology, or four (4) years of apprenticeship experience. Technician classification depends on experience, knowledge, and competence.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and use hands for handling and feeling. Also, required to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, lift, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment:

Frequent exposure to wet/humid conditions and moving mechanical parts; occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, weather conditions, extreme cold/heat, and vibration. Noise level is moderate to loud.
