Job Summary

This position is responsible for repairing construction machines, component assemblies, and parts in the shop and field. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, ordering parts, writing technical reports, warranty reporting, maintaining company assets, and effective communication with team members.

Responsibilities

• Repair equipment and components, including developing repair plans and sequences
• Determine necessary parts, materials, tooling, etc.
• Perform repairs safely and properly, ensuring quality assurance testing of repaired components, systems, and machines
• Complete reports for parts ordering, tooling usage, service reports, and work orders
• Communicate repair progress with supervisors
• Manage parts and materials through the company’s parts ordering system
• Handle special tools and maintain proper care of shop equipment and tools
• Use company vehicles, service trucks, and fuel cards responsibly
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Follow all safety guidelines and company policies
• Perform additional tasks as assigned

Education, Experience, Skills

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. An Associate Degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology or four years of apprenticeship experience is preferred. Technician classification depends on experience, knowledge, and competence.

Physical Demands

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, handle, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, lift, and communicate effectively. Accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment

Exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, weather extremes, and vibration. Noise levels are moderate to loud.
