Job Summary:

This position is responsible for repairing construction machines, component assemblies, and parts in the shop and field. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, ordering parts, writing technical reports, warranty reporting, maintaining company assets, and effective communication with team members.

Responsibilities:

1. Repair equipment and components, including:
1. Developing a repair plan and sequence
2. Determining necessary parts, materials, tooling, etc.
3. Performing repairs properly and safely, with quality assurance testing of repaired components, systems, and machines
2. Maintain and complete all reports legibly and promptly, including parts orders, tooling usage, daily service reports, and work order closures
3. Communicate repair progress with your supervisor as required
4. Retrieve and return parts and materials through the company’s parts ordering system
5. Manage special tools through the company’s Tool Room, ensuring proper care and use of tools and major shop equipment such as air compressors, cleaning tanks, and cranes
6. Use company vehicles, service trucks, and fuel cards responsibly
7. Keep work areas and service vehicles clean and safe
8. Maintain tools and equipment in a safe, efficient, and updated manner
9. Follow all company policies and safety guidelines
10. Perform other tasks as assigned by your manager

Education, Experience, and Skills:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. An Associate Degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology or four (4) years of apprenticeship experience is preferred. Technician classification depends on experience, knowledge, and competence.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and use hands for handling and feeling. Also required are reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, lifting, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment:

Work frequently involves exposure to wet/humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. Occasionally, employees encounter fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather, extreme temperatures, and vibration. Noise levels are moderate to loud.
