Job summary

Weaver Consultants Group in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Field Technician to support construction monitoring and testing at landfill facilities. The role involves travel to out-of-town assignments, often staying in hotels, with expenses covered.

You will monitor site activities, document results, and communicate with project teams. Candidates should have a HS Diploma, 1–2 years field experience, and the ability to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in various conditions.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required; Associate's in Construction, Engineering, or related field.
• 1–2 years of relevant field experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to travel out of town for project assignments at least 50% of time.
• Access to a reliable vehicle, valid Driver's License, and safe driving record.
• Ability to follow detailed engineering plans.
• Strong commitment to health and safety protocols.
• Willing to work outside, in varying climates, on rugged terrain.
• OSHA HAZWOPER certification a plus.

• Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
• Monitor well and landfill gas probes installation and related activities.
• Follow safety rules and practices for all projects.
• Maintain tools and equipment and ensure quality standards.

Weaver Consultants Group is looking for a Field Technician to join our team in Fort Worth, TX. This is a field position that requires out of town assignments that may include working 6-7 days per week. This includes having to stay in hotels for extended periods. All travel expenses are covered for out of town assignment.

Responsibilities

• Monitorand document construction activities at solid waste landfill facilities including field inspection and testing of soils and geosynthetic liners.
• Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g. soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel).
• Communicate with project manager, engineering technicians, client representative, contractor’s representative and others as applicable regarding the construction site, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection requirements and results.
• Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observation in the form of written and digital reports as work is performed for daily transmittal to the Project Manager.
• Provideclear documentation of findings and results.
• Well field monitoring/tuning.
• Monitor a variety of elements including explosive gas, surface emission, liquid level, LFG flare, etc.
• Landfill leachate, surface water (streams and stormwater), gas (methane, CO2 and O2), and soil (VOCs) sampling.
• Oversight of soil borings (including detailed textural descriptions of soils).
• Monitor well/landfill gas probe installation.
• Adhere to strict safety standards.
• Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects.
• Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
• Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
• Maintain tools and equipment.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required; Associate's in Construction,Engineering, or related field .
• At least 1-2 years professional experience with the above activities strongly
• Ability to travel out of town for project assignments at least 50% of time (remaining field sampling sites are local).
• Access to a reliable vehicle, valid Driver's License, and safe driving record.
• Ability to follow detailed engineering plans.
• Strong commitment to health and safety protocols.
• Willing to work outside, in a variety of climates, and be able to traverse tough terrain at times.
• Willing to work at active/closed landfills and industrial properties.
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification a plus.
• Good communication, writing, and organization skills.
• Ability to use basic computer applications like Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds required.
• Flexible schedule based on client demands.

Position will be compensated on an hourly basis. Job schedule for most project work will be set well in advance by pre-determined schedules. Some weeks will likely result in overtime pay, while other weeks may comprise a standard 40 hours.
