Job summary

Weaver Consultants Group is seeking a Field Technician to support landfill construction projects in Fort Worth, TX. The role requires travel to out-of-town sites and staying in hotels as needed, with travel expenses covered.

Expect field and laboratory testing, data reporting, and strict adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a HS Diploma, with an Associate’s in Construction/Engineering preferred, and strong writing, communication, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required; Associate’s in Construction, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Strong communication, writing, and organization skills.
• Ability to travel out of town for project assignments at least 50% of time.
• Access to a reliable vehicle and valid Driver’s License with safe driving record.
• Ability to follow detailed engineering plans and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and document construction activities at solid waste landfill facilities, including field inspection and testing of soils and geosynthetic liners.
• Perform field and/or laboratory testing of materials (soil, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, steel).
• Communicate with project manager and client representatives regarding requirements, results, and inspections.
• Tabulate and submit data and observations in reports for daily transmission to the Project Manager.
• Provide clear documentation of findings and results and maintain quality standards on all projects.
• Monitor wells/landfill gas probes and various environmental parameters; adhere to safety rules.

Weaver Consultants Group is looking for a Field Technician to join our team in Fort Worth, TX. This is a field position that requires out of town assignments that may include working 6-7 days per week. This includes having to stay in hotels for extended periods. All travel expenses are covered for out of town assignment.ResponsibilitiesMonitor and document construction activities at solid waste landfill facilities including field inspection and testing of soils and geosynthetic liners.Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g. soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel).Communicate with project manager, engineering technicians, client representative, contractor’s representative and others as applicable regarding the construction site, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection requirements and results.Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observation in the form of written and digital reports as work is performed for daily transmittal to the Project Manager.Provide clear documentation of findings and results.Well field monitoring/tuning.Monitor a variety of elements including explosive gas, surface emission, liquid level, LFG flare, etc.Landfill leachate, surface water (streams and stormwater), gas (methane, CO2 and O2), and soil (VOCs) sampling.Oversight of soil borings (including detailed textural descriptions of soils).Monitor well/landfill gas probe installation.Adhere to strict safety standards.Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects.Report any safety issues or concerns to management.Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.Maintain tools and equipment.QualificationsHS Diploma required; Associate’s in Construction, Engineering, or related field preferred.At least 1-2 years professional experience with the above activities strongly preferredAbility to travel out of town for project assignments at least 50% of time (remaining field sampling sites are local).Access to a reliable vehicle, valid Driver’s License, and safe driving record.Ability to follow detailed engineering plans.Strong commitment to health and safety protocols.Willing to work outside, in a variety of climates, and be able to traverse tough terrain at times.Willing to work at active/closed landfills and industrial properties.40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification a plus.Good communication, writing, and organization skills.Ability to use basic computer applications like Microsoft Office.Willingness to work independently as well as in a team environment.Ability to lift 50 pounds required.Flexible schedule based on client demands.In addition to our rewarding project work, Weaver Consultants Group offers its employees the following benefits:Generous paid time off for holidays, vacations, and sick leaveInsurance - reputable coverage for health, dental, vision, life, short- and long-term disability401K program with company-matchAnnual incentive bonus programProfessional development and trainingContinuing education reimbursementPosition will be compensated on an hourly basis. Job schedule for most project work will be set well in advance by pre-determined schedules.
