Job description

The Opportunity

Ulteig is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Field Technician II. A successful candidate will work under technical direction and supervision to complete hardware/network installation and commissioning activities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, network equipment configuration and installation, site wiring verification, and troubleshooting.

What You'll Do

  1. Configure, install, test, and troubleshoot network devices that interact with the Plant SCADA system.
  2. Read and provide feedback on site drawings based on field implementation.
  3. Support troubleshooting for fiber, 120VDC and 24VDC, ethernet cables, and serial communications.
  4. Investigate site communication problems and hardware issues, perform repairs, and advise customers on solutions.
  5. Work with project management to specify hardware and networking equipment for projects.
  6. Assist with connection and installation of MET stations and sensors based on client requirements.
  7. Share knowledge through reports, site photos, and lessons learned with teams.
  8. Coach and mentor others on best practices and troubleshooting.
  9. Establish schedules and provide progress reports to teams.

What We Expect from You

  1. Two-year technical degree and 2+ years of experience.
  2. Proficiency with networking equipment, managed switches, cabling, and fiber.
  3. Experience diagnosing electrical issues with multimeters and testing equipment.
  4. Experience building and wiring SCADA server racks.
  5. Familiarity with MET Stations and Sensors (wiring, installation, troubleshooting).
  6. Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  7. Ability to present site issues and contribute to documentation and training.
  8. Ability to understand and trace electrical, network, and fiber drawings.
  9. Experience with Microsoft Office applications and relevant software.
  10. Proficiency in field/electrical safety, inventory, and PPE inspection.
  11. Adaptability to schedule changes, travel, and client needs.
  12. Willingness to travel 50+%.
  13. Ability to work permanently in the US.

Additional details:
Target salary range: $76,800 - $103,900. Factors influencing salary include skills, education, experience, location, and internal comparison.
