Job summary

Sunstate Equipment Co. is seeking a diesel mechanic for on-site, full-time work in El Paso, TX. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday (40 hours) with overtime eligibility; pay range is $23.75-$29.70 per hour plus quarterly branch bonus potential.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of diesel mechanic experience in construction equipment or rental
• Experience with hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engines
• Experience with preventative maintenance and fault diagnosis

• Attention to detail and adherence to manufacturer specs

Position Requirements

Sunstate is a proud Second Chance employer that evaluates every candidate on a case‑by‑case basis.

• You should have 1 to 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic, with a construction equipment or equipment rental background.
• Intermediate experience with hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engines on heavy construction equipment.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance, troubleshoot/diagnose malfunctions and repair equipment.
• Must have the necessary basic tool set you need to perform the scope of equipment repairs.
• Eager to learn and grow; open to training on new equipment, technologies, and repair techniques to stay current in a fast-evolving industry.
• Attention to detail inspecting, servicing, and testing equipment, ensuring performance to manufacturer specifications.
• Basic understanding of schematics, computer diagnostic software, and welding methods.
• Safety oriented, maintaining industry and Sunstate safety standards performing equipment repairs.
