Job Summary:

The Field Technician II will inspect, test, and maintain High, Medium, and Low electrical power equipment, working with equipment such as SF6 & vacuum circuit breakers, transformers, grounding, and switches, while implementing safety policies.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform entry-level testing of electrical power equipment independently, with guidance from senior technicians.
  • Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering personnel to troubleshoot and optimize equipment performance.
  • Prepare detailed reports on tests, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean equipment and components.
Qualifications:

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Willing to work overtime and travel out of town.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with voltage verification, contact resistance, insulation resistance, test setup, reading one-line drawings, understanding equipment hazards, electrical theory, LOTO, arc flash, grounding, schematic reading, and testing equipment.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology, or military experience preferred.
  • 2-4 years relevant industry experience.
  • NETA II Certification.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, lift up to 70 lbs.
