Job summary

C4 Technical Services is seeking a Field Technician I in Columbus, OH for a 3-month contract. The role supports day-to-day telecom/network operations, including installation, testing, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of telecom equipment and critical site infrastructure.

The tech will manage materials/inventory, document activities in internal systems, and assist with asset management and safety standards on site.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED or 1 year of relevant telecom experience.
0–2 years of experience in network monitoring, installation, or maintenance.
Valid driver’s license; ability to work in all weather conditions.
Comfortable using a PC (Windows, Microsoft Office) and learning new systems.

Responsibilities

Assist with installation, provisioning, testing, maintenance, and decommission work for network services (DS0 through OC192).
Support next-generation technologies as assigned (Edge Compute, Wavelength, Fiber Optic Transport, Ethernet, SONET, IP network layers).
May install and test network/CPE and help deliver end-user services.
Troubleshoot network equipment and help restore service.
Monitor routes and assist restoration during outages.
Locate, mark, and protect underground facilities (Outside Plant).
Process deliveries and track spares, update inventory records.
