Job summary

Clean Harbors in Mobile AL is seeking a Field Services Technician I to join our safety‑conscious team. This role will perform hazardous waste cleanup, site remediation, equipment decontamination and handling of hazardous materials in the field, with 100% travel.

The position requires attending a paid two‑week Academy training (out of state possible) and being on call for emergency response on a rotating basis.

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation
• Ability to perform physical functions per key responsibilities
• On-call emergency response with possible weekend/holiday work
• Background check, drug test, and physical per position
• Respiratory protection standards compliance per OSHA

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety is the first priority by following policies.
• Engage in strenuous physical labor including lifting and pulling heavy objects.
• Operate light/heavy equipment and various hand tools.
• Use PPE including respirators and protective gear correctly.
• Work in varying temperatures outdoors/indoors in all weather.
• Possibility of exposure to hazardous substances and chemicals.
• Work at elevations and in confined spaces when needed.
• Assist in field sampling and calibration of meters.
• Climb ladders/scaffolding and enter containers or trucks.
• On-call for emergency response on rotating basis.
• Attend compliance/safety meetings
• Safe loading/unloading of waste
• Perform other duties as assigned
